Public
Health Services works with communities, families and
individuals to identify health needs and assets, and supports
individual and community action to prevent illness, protect and
promote health, and achieve well being.
As
a group, the public health team, which includes a Medical
Officer of Health, dental hygienists, RNs, LPNs, nutritionists
and health educator, have skills in a wide range of areas
including community development, health education and promotion,
population health, disease prevention and control, and
interpretation of health status information.
The
three core services are:
